"The first memories I hold of this place are the smell of dark purple must coming out of the wine press. The bright yellow corn drying on the threshing floor. The olive oil stored in large blue pots in the cellar. Running through the rye field fleeing from the dog. The little boats and cars my grandmother made from watermelon rinds. The gourds turned into dolls with hair made from corn silk. Bathing in the ice-cold water of the granite tank. Mr António tending the oxen. Rosinha looking after the chickens, pigs and rabbits. The warm summer nights serenaded by crickets. The long lunches with my grandmother's sweet smile at the head of the table. The trips to the bustling Amarante Market. The convent sweets for dessert. The dips in the River Tâmega."
My grandfather José Cardoso, born in the parish of Salvador do Monte, and my grandmother Leonor Cardoso in the parish of Lomba, municipality of Amarante, brought me to this place where I spent much of my childhood."
And I returned years later with my family to start the Naturpassion project.
We arrived in 2008. The first crop we planted was raspberries, followed by blackberries and finally blueberries. We are a small family business, living Agriculture in a permanent fascination with Nature and the balance of its forces.
All the agricultural practices that experience had taught me over the past 10 years, together with the Agronomy degree I chose to pursue, were invaluable so that together with my family and the workers who joined us, we could offer the fruit quality we have maintained for several years.

Amarante and this place have given us so much and we want to offer the same to all of you.
